VT Walmart & Sam’s Club SuperStores
Walmart is a major food supplier for Vermont. It has taken longer than in most states, but Vermont now has Walmart stores in nearly every region. Walmart is the place where many Vermonters get discounted groceries and other items. Walmart subsidieries include: Asda, Sam’s Club, Seiyu Group, Walmex, @WalmartLabs, and Walmart eCommerce. Walmart is the world’s largest company by revenue, according to Fortune magazine. Walmart is a family-owned business. Walmart is still controlled by the Walton family. Walmart headquarters is located in Bentonville, Arkansas. The company’s business model is based on selling a wide variety of general merchandise at “always low prices.” Walmart employees are referred to as “associates”. All Wal-Mart stores in the US and Canada also have designated “greeters” at the store entrance. This practice was pioneered by Walmart founder Sam Walton and has been replicated by many other retailers. Many Vermonters are shopping online for Walmart products and then picking up at the local Walmart store. Shipping is free and the online deals are often exceptional. Walmart’s charitable donations approach $1 billion each year. Vermont is served by a handful of Supermarket Chains and Walmart. Ask us about VT Supermarkets or share your comments.
