VT Trader Joe’s Markets

Trader Joe’s has finally made its way to Vermont. Trader Joe’s is a privately held specialty grocery store chain based in Los Angeles, CA. (company headquarters is in Monrovia, Ca.) Trader Joe’s was founded by Joe Coulombe and has been owned since 1979 by a German family trust established by Aldi Nord’s owner Theo Albrecht. While most supermarkets carry many more items, Trader Joe’s is popular for its own brand of merchandise.  Trader Joe’s private-label products contain no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, MSG or trans fats; they are sourced from non-genetically modified ingredients; and in the case of dairy products, are made from milk from cows not given the artificial hormone rBST. Vermont  is served by only a handful of Supermarket Chains and Walmart.
