After the fall of Ticonderoga, the original settlers fled, but it was soon resettled in 1784 by 30 families from Connecticut. Linsley; attorney, congressman & seantor Solomon Foot; and the 51st Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, Abram W. Foote.
