Burke Mountain features 34 cut and maintained trails and 9 glades, 1 quad, 1 POMA, 1 double, and 1 J-Bar lift, 250 acres of skiing terrain

Burke Mountain Ski Area is located 8 miles from I-91, exit 23, in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom in the village of East Burke, Vermont.  The ski area is about a 3 hour drive from Boston, MA, and about 3.5 hours from Hartford, CT.

Burke Mountain Ski Area offers big mountain skiing without the big price tag, and offers 2000 vertical feet of some of the finest un-crowded skiing in Vermont on both traditional New England trails and wide open cruising terrain.   Burke offers 25% novice trails, 45% intermediate trails, and 30% advanced trails.

Home to the Burke Mountain Ski Academy, the oldest and most prestigious ski academy in the country, Burke Mountain offers an authentic old New England-style atmosphere for those seeking an unpretentious, family-friendly alpine experience. Burke’s low-key scene belies the magnitude of its skiing product. With a 2,000 vertical foot drop, 250 inches of average annual snowfall, superior glades and contour-following trails rarely seen any longer, Burke delivers a classic Vermont alpine ski experience.

Families are drawn to Burke because of its low-key, friendly atmosphere. New for the 2005/06 season are 4 terrain parks, a high-speed detachable quad chairlift, and major upgrades to the snowmaking system. Also new for this season, Burke introduced to rave reviews its new restaurant, the Tamarack Grill. Burke’s Snowsports Learning Center, known as the “home of the carved turn”, has experienced, courteous professionals who understand how to nurture a life-long love of the sport of skiing.

Burke is conveniently located at the intersection of I-93 and I-91, only 3 hours from Boston and 2 hours from Montreal.

Burke Mountain Ski Area is also home to the Burke Mountain Academy, which has produced more Olympic skiers than any other ski school.

Generally Open from Thanksgiving through early April – Midweek, weekends and holidays from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Getting There: Take I-91 to Vermont exit 23 (Lyndon). Follow U.S. Route 5 north through Lyndonville to VT Route 114 North. In East Burke village, turn right at the “Burke Mountain” sign, this is Mountain Road. Follow Mountain Road to the next “Burke Mountain” sign. It should read “Base Lodge.”
