The Bennington Museum is an interesting and educational vacation destination. This wonderful musuem is one of the finest regional history and art museums in New England, if not the entire country. The Bennington Museum is located on West Main Street (Route 9), one mile west of the intersection of Routes 7 and 9 in downtown Bennington, Vermont. The museum houses the largest public collection of Grandma Moses paintings and memorabilia, along with the Grandma Moses Schoolhouse she attended as a child. This museum also features Bennington Pottery, Antique Glass and Glassware, Old New England furniture, books, American Folk Art, and items from the Catamount Tavern – where Seth Warner and Ethan Allen met and planned the birth of Vermont as an independent state.
