Adamant, Vermont is an unincorporated village of the larger community of Calais in Washington Country. Adamant Village is situated on the town line of Calais, Vermont with East Montpelier to the south. There is no true boundary to define the village of Adamant. This brings much debate among the residents as to which town they are actually in. Since there is no legal, governmental or commercial status associated with the residence the debate holds no weight. Adamant and residents shrug it off simply stating “Adamant is a state of mind”. The Adamant Music School is located here. The school holds musicology and piano classes every summer. Adamant Music School was founded in 1942.
