The US Border Patrol has been improving and enhancing patrols along this stretch of international boundary. Remember when going from the US to Canada you are processed by Canada Customs, when entering the US from Canada you must adhere to US Customs Laws. The border crossing requirement include a valid US Passport for all. Get your US Passport before traveling to Canada.

The U.S. Border Patrol manages the American – Canadian border in white vehicles, unmarked vehicles, on foot, and by ATV patrol. It is no secret that the Vermont – Canadian border has been used for centuries by gun runners, drug smugglers and people smugglers. The “hooch runners” of the last century have been replaced by the dangerous smuggling of drugs, arms, and illegal immigrants.

U.S. Border Patrol is asking people who live, work, or travel in the border area of Vermont for any information regarding suspicious vehicles or people who may be smuggling drugs, weapons, people, or other contraband across the border.
