20 Mile Trip – Easy Rating
This trail is comprised of two portions of a 34-mile rural trail connecting western Vermont and eastern New York. This old railroad bed is covered with original ballast extending 10 miles from Casleton to Poultney with an additional 10-mile segment traveling from West Pawlet to West Rupert. Both sections are connected via 14 miles of undeveloped rail bed in New York State. Used for mountain biking, walking, horseback riding and snowmobiling with 17 bridges along Vermont routes and abundant wildlife viewing.

19 Mile Loop – Moderate Rating
This road biking tour begins at the junction of SR 100 and 100A and follows SR 100A to Bridgewater Corners. The tour ascends a difficult hill (known as Hysteria Hill) that offers a six-mile decent. The tour includes an optional side trip to the historic town of Plymouth, where it turns left onto US Route 4 West in Bridgewater Corners and continues for six miles to West Bridgewater before turning left onto SR 100 South to return to the starting point.

This fairly flat gravel road runs through the Union Village Dam Project with streamside picnic areas, and follows along a gorge traversed by the Ompompanoosuc River. The trip is especially popular among families with children.
