The north central Vermont region is vast and varied. Vermont's famous Route 100 passes through this scenic region of the Green Mountain state. North Central Vermont - also referred to as Mid Vermont - is diverse geographically and economically. Several outstanding ski areas are located here. The fabulous Mad River Valley and popular resort towns of Warren, Waitsfield, Stowe and Waterbury are here. The state capitol of Montpelier, and granite quarries of Barre are located here. North central Vermont is comprised of Orange, Washington, and Lamoille counties.
