Green Up Vermont Day began back in 1970 – it is a state-sponsored day to help keep Vermont Green. Green Up Day in Vermont is always held on the first Saturday in May and depends upon volunteers dedicated to removing road-side trash and litter. Green Up Vermont Day was started by Governor Deane C.
