The historic Vermont town of Hubbardton is home to the Hubbardton Monument. Hubbardton was the where the Green Mountain Boys carried the first American flag flown in battle against the British in 1777. Hubbardton is home of several pristine lakes; Lake Hortonia, Echo Lake, and Beebe Pond are located here. Vermont State Historic Site - The Hubbardton Battlefield and Hubbardton Battle Monument are located in East Hubbardton near Zion Hill. The Half Moon Pond State Park is located here. The Village of Hortonia is part of Hubbardton.
