Glover is the site of "Runaway Pond", where an attempt to divert an outlet sent an entire pond raging 27 miles away. This town is home to the famous Bread and Puppet Theatre and Museum and boasts three wonderful lakes - Shadow Lake, Daniel's Pond, and Lake Parker (located in West Glover).
Glover, Vermont was once the site of Long Pond (now called Runaway Pond). An historic marker commemorates the sight of the former Long Pond - the pond "ran away" when local men attempted to change to direction of water flowing from the pond and redirect it towards Barton Lake.
