Danby is the home of Pearl Buck, the noted and Pulitzer Prize winning author. The Danby Quarry is located here. It is more than a mile long and covers more than 25 acres making the Danby Quarry the largest underground marble quarry in the world. Grantees of Danby were from Nine Partner (Amenia), New York.
