Smuggler's offers Alpine skiing and snowboarding on 3 big mountains with more than 1,000 acres of all-terrain access. The 2,600'+ vertical drop is among the most extreme in the east. The "Fab Five" offers challenging Single and Double Black Diamond runs. "The Black Hole" is the only Triple Black Diamond run - an enticement for the daring expert skier.
Getting There: Smugglers' Notch is located 30 miles east of Burlington, Vermont.
From New York City (6-hour drive), take I-95 N to New Haven, CT, then I-91 N through Hartford, CT, Springfield, MA and Brattleboro, VT to White River Junction, VT. At White River Junction, take I-89 N through Montpelier to Waterbury. Take Exit 10 I-89 in Waterbury, and follow Vermont Route 100 N through Stowe to Morrisville. In Morrisville, take Route 15 W through Johnson to Jeffersonville. In Jeffersonville, pick up Route 108 S. The resort is located about 6 miles from Jeffersonville on the left.
From Montreal (2-hour drive), take the Champlain Bridge to Hwy. 10 E, continue 9 miles. Take Exit 22 for Hwy. 35 S. Hwy. 35 S merges with Hwy. 133 S in Iberville. Follow this route to the Vermont Border where it turns into I-89. Follow I-89 S to St. Albans. Take Exit 19 (2nd exit for St. Albans) onto Rte. 104 (southeast direction). Follow 104 S through Fairfax to Cambridge. In Cambridge, pick up Rte. 15 E to Jeffersonville. In Jeffersonville take Rte. 108 S to the resort (about 6 miles).
