What can you say about a Pot Belly....A lot, if it is The Pot Belly Restaurant & Pub on Main Street in Ludlow Vermont. The Pot Belly has been in business since 1976 and after having lunch there I can understand why.
The garden salads are enough for two, and the salad selections looked wonderful, many of them vegetarian. The sandwiches thick and plentiful, try the Reuben it was outstanding, with choices of Steak, Chicken, Turkey and Burgers.
Although we were there for lunch, I of course took a look at the dinner menu and was pleasantly surprised by the selection and prices. Choices ranged from Meatloaf served with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, Ribs glazed with sweet maple and nut sauce, Grilled Filet Mignon, Salmon with an orange bourbon sauce, Seafood, Turkey Stir Fry and more.
Dessert looked even more interesting Crème Brulee Cheesecake, Chocolate Mousse cake and Bread Pudding is the standard with specials daily.
The service at The Pot Belly was friendly, and fast. A large dining room broken up for a more intimate experience with wall dividers and of course At least one antique Pot Belly Stove. Right on the Main Street in Ludlow, you can't miss the man with the Pot Belly on the sign. I recommend this family oriented establishment.
