The Word
I hear a bird, he said a word,
he said it faint, but clear.
The word was meant for everyone;
for those who lend an ear.
It is a word that means to care -
not many understand.
In words it sometimes means to share,
or lend a helping hand.
Those of you who know this word are lucky, you may say.
But, in a way this word is bad,
it may break your heart one day.
Most of you have guessed this word - the one I'm speaking of.
The day I overheard the bird,
the word he said was, "Love."
