Vermont's Best Foliage Drives Scenic Drives Throughout Vermont

Vermont offers some of the most beautiful fall foliage in the United States. It is often difficult to choose which route to take on a scenic drive to view the foliage. So here is complied a short list of drives which many people have greatly enjoyed.
The Islands
Starting in Essex Junction take Rte 2A north/west to Rte 2 north. Route 2 will take you through the Islands on Lake Champlain. 78 east will take you back to the mainland. Take Rte 105 east to Enosburg Falls. From here get on Rte 108 south to Cambridge. Once here take Rte 15 south/west to back to Essex Junction
Hazen's Notch / Route 100
From Montgomery Center follow Rte. 58 to Lowell, which starts off paved but turns to rough dirt as you climb through Hazen's Notch, where you are literally engulfed in fall foliage. Stay on Rte. 58 crossing over Rte. 100 into Irasburg and the junction of Rte. 14. Follow Rte. 14 into Hardwick, stopping along the way at Craftsbury if you have the time. In Hardwick, take Rte. 15 southeast to West Danville, where you pick up Rte. 2 East into St. Johnsbury.
Danby / Mt. Tabor
From Manchester Village head north on Rte. 7A past the junction where it turns into Rte. 7, and past the Villages of East Dorset and North Dorset to the Danby / Mt. Tabor Road junction. Turn right onto Danby Road, which starts out paved but turns to dirt, and follow over the Green Mountains past the the left turn to Weston and the right turn to Peru and through the Village of North Landgrove to the junction of Rte. 11. Turn right onto Rte. 11 and follow to Barnumville and the junction of Rte. 30. Follow Rte. 30 South back to Manchester Village.
