Live Jazz
Downtown Burlington will be grooving like never before on Friday night January 28, 2005 when jazz percussionist / drummer & bandleader Jack DeJohnette and his Latin Project take to the stage at Burlington's centerpiece of entertainment, the Flynn Theatre.
Joining DeJohnette will be Don Byron on clarinet, Edsel Gomez on piano, Jerome Harris on bass, Giovanni Hidalgo on conga and Luisito Quintero on timbales.
La Presse of Montreal sums it up "One could not gather a more exceptional group of jazz masters" - we agree. Jazz buffs and drummers will be inspired. DeJohnette - a talented drummer and bandleader has been an innovator at the forefront of jazz drumming for nearly four decades. His recordings with Keith Jarrett, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis earned him international recognition.
The Latin Project - DeJohnettes current passion - exploded onto the music scene at last year's Montreal Jazz Festival. This promises to be a special evening for northern New England jazz fans.
