Celebrate the maple sap gathering season! Many Vermont Maple Sugarhouses are open to the public every spring. Come watch the production of Vermont Maple Syrup. This popular annual event is held statewide during the "sap run" primarily. Sap run is the time when maple sugar producers are busy gathering and boiling maple sap to make maple syrup. The dates vary slightly every year but is generally held late March. Visit our Vermont Sugar Houses section to find a Vermont Sugar House in every area of Vermont. Always held the first weekend of spring. This event is celebrated by Vermont sugarmakers, restaurants, and lodgings.
