The Northcentral region of Vermont includes the famous ski town of Stowe and the entire Mad River Valley. The Mad River Valley towns of Warren and Waitsfield have historic covered bridges. The famous "Emily's Bridge" is said to be Vermont's Haunted Covered Bridge. If you in search of covered bridge photo opportunities than consider a visit to Northfield. This town is home to Norwich University and has three beautiful covered bridges all located on Cox Brook road, an easy find off Route 12. Emily's Bridge

Stowe, VT
Built in 1844, this 48 ft Howe truss bridge spans Gold brook.  It has become famous as Vermont's only haunted bridge.

Kingsbury Bridge
Off Route 114
Randolph, VT
Constructed in 1904 by an unknown builder the Kingsbury Bridge has multiple Kingpost construction.

Gifford Bridge
Off Route 114
Randolph, VT
Also Constructed in 1904 the Gifford Bridge has single Kingpost construction that suggests that it was converted to a covered bridge from an "open pony" bridge.

Braley Bridge

Randolph, VT
Similar in construction and type to the Gifford bridge, tricky to drive back to Rt. 14 from this one, consider walking to see it. 

Village Bridge

Vermont's second oldest bridge, this 105' multiple kingpost with burr arch bridge is one of the few with a walkway, completely restored in 1973.

Pine Brook Bridge

Built in 1872 with kingpost construction, restored in 1977. 

Warren Bridge
Near Route 100
Warren, VT
Built in 1879-80, this 60' queenpost has an asymmetrical design.

Orton Bridge

Marshfield, VT
Located in a field south of Rte 2, this privately owned Queenpost design has two large cupolas.

Moseley Bridge

Northfield, VT
Built in 1899 by John Mosely, this modified Kingpost bridge spans 36 ft over the Stony Brook.

Chamberlain Bridge

Also along Stony Brook , Chamberlain Bridge is a privately owned 22 ft Kingpost built in 1956 by Mahlon Chamberlain.

Slaughterhouse Bridge

Built around 1860 this 60 ft Queenpost bridge can be difficult to find.  Go 3/10ths of a mile south of Cox Brook Road.

Robbin's Nest Bridge

Rebuilt in 1962-64 after the original was lost to the flood of 1927, this is a Queenpost bridge.

Kent's Corner Bridge

Calais, VT
A privately owned 22 ft kingpost built in 1994 on Kent Hill Road in Calais.

Powerhouse Bridge

This queenpost bridge crosses the Gihon River, construction date 1872. 

Scribner Bridge

Construction date unknown, this bridge started out as a half height uncovered "pony bridge." Around 1919 a cover was added.

Crossing the Ompompanoosuc River this 111 ft bridge, built in 1867,  combines different arches and massive timbers. 

Center Bridge

Crossing the East Ompompanoosuc River this 127 foot bridge is similar to the Union Village Bridge.

Built in 1883, this 56 foot Queenpost bridge crosses the first branch of the White River.

Built in 1845, this bridge has wonderful patterns of shadow and light inside it.
