Formerly known as the Vermont Expos, the Vermont Lake Monsters have been a member of the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals baseball sy
stem since 1994. Vermont is the "Class A" short-season affiliate of the Washington Nationals. All players who play for Vermont are on loan from Washington. The season runs from mid-June to September.
The mascot of the Vermont Lake Monsters is CHAMP, the lake monster that lives in Lake Champlain. CHAMP can be spotted at the games.
