Studio Place Arts, Inc., affectionately known as "SPA", is a three-story community center for the visual arts in downtown Barre, Vermont. SPA is devoted to creating broad community access to the visual arts for professional artists, craftspeople, hobbyists, students, and visitors. Open to the public, SPA invites all people to come together as a community of peers in a climate of respect, creative excitement, and productive work. SPA is committed to downtown revitalization and making the visual arts accessible to people from all walks of life.

SPA offers a wide variety of workshops and classes in a large classroom on the first floor, welcomes community involvement and encourages membership in SPA.

Studio Place Arts has worked with many other community organizations to bring the visual arts into central Vermont communities: The Vermont Arts Council, Onion River Arts Council, the Council on Aging, VSA Arts of Vermont, the Youth Service Bureau, New Directions for Barre, G.R.A.C.E., the Barre Partnership, the Center for Photographic Studies, Central Vermont Community Land Trust, the Lions Club, Rotary, the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and many others.

As with any non-profit agency, SPA encourages volunteers to get behind the scenes and enjoy the fun of putting up or breaking down gallery shows.

Members receive a discount on all classes and workshops over $100, and $10 off classes under $100. Members also receive discounts for admissions to lectures, the Annual Gala, and other special events at SPA. Members will receive invitations to all SPA events and a quarterly newsletter.
The facility contains the Studio Place Arts Gallery, classrooms for art instruction, and studios rented on a yearly basis by individual artists and arts groups.
