The Montréal-Mirabel International Airport was established in 1975 and is located in a rapidly expanding industrial zone 40 minutes from Downtown Montréal. In 1999, the airport employed 4,000, hosted 41,019 aircraft movements and 1,292,624 passengers. The airport is recognized for its specialized services and excellent rates for cargo activities.

PILOT INFORMATION:
Commercial and general crafts are welcome on the runways at both Montréal airports. However, the infrastructures in place at these two sites are different. The Montréal-Mirable Airport does not offer refueling facilities for the types of aircraft normally used for pleasure flights. However, the airport does have a general aviation zone that houses several refuellers able to respond to the needs of pleasure craft. It is also possible to clear customs at Montréal-Mirabel Airport by notifying Canada Customs.
